ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) brewing

Belgian brewer INTERBREW has increased its share in Serbian group APATIN, the country's biggest brewer with a market share of 39% and production of 5.7 million hectolitres of beer, by 9.6% to 50%. It is shortly to bid for all remaining capital. INTERBREW's bid was at a level of 167.64 EUR per share, valuing the company at 262 million EUR. INTERBREW already owns 14 breweries in central Europe.
