ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) telecommunications

The German group DEUTSCHE TELEKOM has raised 1.1 bn dollars to acquire ET, the company jointly held by VU - VIVENDI UNIVERSAL and ELEKTRIM, which controls 51% of the capital of PTC (turnover 1.3 bn EUR with 5.6 million customers), Poland's leading mobile telecomm operators. DEUTSCHE TELEKOM, which already owned 49% of the company, will become its sole proprietor. VU will receive 691 million EUR, ELEKTRIM 400 million and YMER FINANCES, which holds 2% of ET, 9 million EUR.
