Turkish participants in Hearing from Europe initiative stress magnitude of public debate over Europe in their country

Brussels, 03/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - One day, Europeans should directly elect their President, Kemal Dervis, Member of the European Convention and former Turkish Minister for the Economy, said during the seventh and last debate organised via satellite by "Les Amis de l'Europe" under Etienne Davignon, in the context of the Hearing from Europe, which has allowed a large number of Europeans from all countries to exchange their views on the future European Constitution.
