Brussels, 23/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - On 18 June, when addressing the European Parliament on the future of the textile and clothing industry with a view to WTO negotiations, Pascal Lamy recalled the importance of the sector not only for developing countries - for which it often represents the main source of exports and industrial employment - but also for the EU, which is the leading textile exporter world-wide and the second largest exporter for clothing.
