23/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - The ACODDEN network (A Classroom of Difference - Diversity Education Network) is organising, on 3 and 4 July in Montecatini, on the occasion of the Italian EU Council Presidency, a conference on the theme "Diversity and Citizenship, a Challenge and an Opportunity for Schools". Participants will mainly discuss the diversity and initial training of teachers, diversity of education in the classroom, schools and the community, language and communication. The ACODDEN network, in which 24 organisations from 8 European countries take part, enjoys the support of the Socrates programme and aims to encourage best practices in education in order to promote an intercultural society and combat discrimination.
