Valéry Giscard d'Estaing to submit final draft to Italian Presidency on 18 July - Praesidium preparing final penuries (4 July and 9/10 July) - Little scope for amendment

Brussels, 23/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Convention Praesidium will meet on 26 June to prepare for the final plenary sessions, on 4 July and 9/10 July. The 9/10 July plenary will endorse the final draft European Constitution, which will then be submitted to the Italian Presidency of the Council in Rome on 8 July, said Convention spokesperson, Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, on Monday, adding that Italian President Ciampi sent the invitation to Chairman Giscard d'Estaing a while ago.
