EUR 300 million for high speed train line linking Madrid-Bacelona-Figueras

Luxembourg, 11/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) has just granted a EUR 300 million loan to Gestor de Infraestructurals Ferroviarias (GIF) for funding the high speed train line between Madrid-Barcelona-Figueras. This operation constitutes the first tranche of a EUR 2.5 billion loan - the highest loan ever in the EIB's history - which the bank's Board of Governors approved during its meeting in September 2002 in Seville.
