Agreement on accession of ten new Member States to EEA - Increased funding from the three EEA/EFTA states

Brussels, 11/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - Negotiations over the accession of the ten future EU Member States to the European Economic Area (EEA) were successfully concluded last week. When they join the EU on 1 May 2004 the ten states will automatically become members of the EEA, which was set up in 1994 and currently has 18 members (the 15 EU Member States, Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland).
