Commission on Tuesday to propose reduction of Member States' contributions to current budget by 6.4bn Euros

Brussels, 08/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - In Strasbourg on Tuesday, the European Commission is to adopt preliminary draft supplementary and amending budget (SAB) no. 3/2003, which will be presented by Commissioner Michaele Schreyer, and which concerns the 2002 surplus, totalling 7.4 billion Euros. The Commission is proposing that the Member States' contributions for the 2003 budget be reduced by 6.4 billion Euros (one billion had already been budgeted last year in the 2003 budget), by writing...
