Poul Nielson to visit Iraq on Tuesday and Wednesday

Brussels, 02/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - Commissioner Poul Nielson will be visiting Iraq on Tuesday and Wednesday to send a message of support and solidarity for the Iraqi people. He will also explore the possibility of establishing a Humanitarian Aid office in Baghdad. Nielson will visit humanitarian projects funded by ECHO and meet ECHO partners including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the Red Crescent Society and NGOs (like Unicef and the World Food Programme).
