Next monitoring report will show most acceding countries have problems in implementing acquis on food safety and management of Community funds

Brussels, 02/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - Enlargement Commissioner Günter Verheugen has announced that the Commission will be approving a new interim monitoring report by mid-May to assess the way ten accession countries fulfil the commitments they have taken in membership talks (as well as the timetables agreed) concerning the adoption and the implementation of acquis communautaire in the various areas.
