Commission clears investment aid to disadvantaged urban areas in France

Brussels, 02/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved the French system of urban free zones ("zones franches urbaines" - ZFU), which aims to support economic activity in disadvantaged urban areas. The system provides for urban free zones to be open from 1 January 2003 till 31 December 2007.
