Informal Lagonissi Council (2/4 May) to focus on environment in future European Constitution and environmental cooperation with Balkans

Brussels, 02/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - The EU's environment ministers meet for an informal Council meeting starting on Friday at Lagonissi (near Athens), with two working sessions. The environment in the Convention's work on the future of Europe was discussed on Friday afternoon by the EU's ministers, who were joined on Saturday by their counterparts from the Balkans for a meeting focussing on water as a priority for regional cooperation on environment issues in South-East Europe.
