02/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - The secretary General of the World Customs Organisation (WCO), Kunio Mikuriya, asserted in a declaration that "an international and concerted intervention was needed for identifying and locating priceless stolen Iraqi objects" and that the efficacity of actions led on the borders was a "fundamental element in the international fight against fraud". He also added that the WCO would be working in close collaboration with UNESCO, ICPO-Interpol, the international association of museaums as well as other international organisations in order to contribute to the location of priceless objects that have been pillaged, as well as encouraging all action on a regional scale in countries neighbouring Iraq.
