France adjusts its universal service financing mechanism in telecommunications sector to comply with Court of Justice ruling

Brussels, 16/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption, on 10 April, of a decree amending the postal and telecommunications code with regards universal service, France swiftly responded to the formal letter of notice addressed to it by the European Commission two days earlier (see EUROPE of 10 April, p.15). The Commission reproached Paris for failure to comply with the Court of Justice ruling enjoining him to comply with the provisions governing the universal service financing arrangements...
