Council confirms EU commitments to help fund 2004 elections and fight against terrorism

Luxembourg, 16/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - In its conclusions adopted on Monday, the Council of the EU, "expressed is satisfaction with the dialogue between the EU and Indonesia" and confirms that the Union is ready to help and provide observers for the Presidential and parliamentary elections in 2004. Referring to the different internal conflicts in Indonesia, the Council stresses that a lasting peace in Aceh has to be based on "democratic and fair elections" in Aceh in 2004. It also confirms...
