Adoption of proposals of regulation on transit

Brussels, 14/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the External Relations Council adopted without debate the two proposals of regulation intended for the establishment of facilitated transit documents (FTD) between the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad and continental Russia. The regulations, which recommend the characteristics and conditions for granting the FTD and the facilitated rail transport documents (FRTD), aim to set in place the transit system between Kaliningrad and Russia as foreseen in the agreement concluded at the EU/Russia Summit in November 2002 (see EUROPE of 6 February, p.10 and 13 November, p.9).
