Council and Parliament do not manage to reach agreement on enlargement-related financial needs - nonetheless, threat of postponing assent is more remote

Brussels, 01/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - During the budgetary trilogue that took place in Athens on Tuesday, the European Parliament and Council of Minister delegations were unable to reach full agreement on the problem that divides the two institutions concerning the inclusion into the draft Accession Treaty of additional spending ceilings linked to enlargement to the ten new Member States.
