Scandinavian group ARLA FOODS, the biggest dairy group in Europe by volume, has taken control of EXPRESS DAIRIES, the United Kingdom's leading distributor of diary products. The new entity, ARLA FOODS UK, will be 51% owned by ARLA FOODS and 49% by EXPRESS DAIRIES shareholders. It will be number one in UK dairy products, processing 2.3 billion litres annually and with a turnover of almost 15 billion Danish Kroner (around 2 billion euros).
