01/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Children's Network, EURONET, is organising a day of inter-generational dialogue on 3 April at the Maison de l'Europe in Brussels, to convince European decision-makers to include a reference to children in the future EU Constitution. The young delegates, from eleven Member States, will be working with Convention representatives, MEPs, Commission officials and NGOs at discussion sessions on the six following themes (linked to the rights of the child): education, poverty and social exclusion, discrimination, environment, trafficking in children and young people in Europe, children and social protection institutions. This campaign, on "children and the future of Europe", which is supported by the European Commission, aims to obtain a legal basis for the promotion and protection of the rights of the 90 million European citizens aged under 18.
