Strasbourg, 12/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Union is occasionally criticized on one aspect of its enlargement process: that it has merely moved the iron curtain further east. The Commission answered these criticisms on Tuesday by adopting a communication on neighbourhood policy, which was presented briefly to the European Parliament by Romano Prodi the same evening (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.6).
