Brussels, 14/02/2003 (Agence Europe) - Italy has just adopted a Decree allowing milk producers to only pay 25% of the full amount of the fines imposed by the European Commission for exceeding quotas between 1995 and 2001. The fines due to be paid by Italian dairy farmers for the detected overshooting of quotas in 1995-2001 amount to EUR 924 million.
