The Anglo-Dutch group RECKITT BENCKISER has sold its razor activities (Schick and Wilkinson Sword: some $650 million turnover in 2002, with a workforce of 400) to ENERGIZER HOLDINGS, America's second largest manufacturer of batteries, for $930 million cash. Exclusive talks were initiated with RECKITT BENCKISER in December, but they led nowhere. See EI of 12 December, p.18.
