23/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - Following the recent events in Turkmenistan (President Niyazov is said t have been the subject of an attack on 24 November, and ordered the arrest of the opposition) the EU Presidency made a declaration hoping that a full and transparent enquiry would be held. Furthermore, it calls on the authorities of Turkmenistan to allow a fact-finding mission to go to the country.
