European Parliament blames Council's attitude for asylum and immigration policy

Strasbourg, 16/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - By adopting (324 in favour, 121 against and 6 abstention) a joint resolution on Wednesday tabled by the EPP-D, PES and ELDR on asylum and immigration policy, the European Parliament clearly stigmatised the weakness of the efforts made in the matter by the Council, accusing it of slowing down any move towards a genuine common immigration policy: Here are the details of the resolution:
