Brussels, 16/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - The United Kingdom, Spain and Italy are in favour of the Franco-German proposals of 14 January on the future institutional architecture of the EU, and especially that of a full-time president of the European Council, whereas this idea has generally been received with caution and reservations (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.5, including over developments in the stance of Danish Prime Minister Rasmussen).
