16/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday European Commissioner Pascal Lamy welcomed the conclusion of negotiations for a regional free trade agreement between the "Agadir Four": Jordan, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. The Commissioner explained that, "This agreement constitutes a major step forward in their economic integration and for the completion of the Euro-Mediterranean Free trade area. I hope that in the near future other countries from the southern bank of the Mediterranean will join and benefit from the dynamic launched by this ambitious agreement." The agreement initialled on 11 January is expected to be signed in the month of March.
