Germany condemned for failing to recover State aid from German bank WestLB

Luxembourg, 17/12/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Court of Justice has condemned Germany for failing to correctly execute the European Commission's decision ordering the recovery of State aid to Westdeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (WestLB). The Court recalls that when the European Commission observes the incompatibility of State aid with the common market, it may force the State concerned to abolish or modify it and demand its recovery.
