USA appears ready to conclude legal co-operation agreement without extradition of foreign nationals - discussion at Thursday's Council

Brussels, 17/12/2002 (Agence Europe) - The USA appears prepared to conclude a legal co-operation and extradition agreement with the European Union even if extradition of EU nationals to the USA is not covered. US sources informed Agence Europe that it, "does not look like it is going to be resolved in this agreement". Conditions imposed by the Europeans (notably the systematic return to the countries of origin to undergo punishment) would be too high for the USA to pay for an overall...
