09/12/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Minister-President of Bavaria, Edmund Stoiber, expressed concern about the German government's intentions concerning a possible announcement, in Copenhagen, of the date when EU member talks could begin with Turkey. He called for a debate at the Bundestag on this subject. The debate on the future configuration of Europe cannot be held behind closed doors, the CSU indignantly said.
