EU welcomes Mr Koizumi's visit to North Korea

Brussels, 03/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, the European Union welcomed the planned visit of Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koiszumi to North Korea on 17 September. The Danish Presidency in a press statement hoped that the interview with Mr Koizumi and President Kim Jong-II "will help the normalisation process in relations between Japan and North Korea and thus contribute to furthering peace and stability in the region.
