03/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - On the initiative of Commissioner Anna Diamantopoulou, this Wednesday the European Commission is expected to approve a proposal to create a consultation committee for health and safety at work. This corresponds to the Commission's desire to set up a single consultation body to replace the two existing committees (the consultation committee for health and safety at work and the standing body for health and safety in coal mines and other mining industries).
