The American group CENDANT has acquired the vehicle renting company BUDGET (annual turnover of around $2.4 billion) for the sum of $107.5 million, to which must be added $2.7 billion in debt takeover. CENDANT thus acquires business in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America while the business activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa still need a buyer.
