The US distributor of office furniture STAPLES (turnover $10.7 billion in 2001) is to acquire the distance selling branch of French GUILBERT. The activities in question make up an annual turnover of EUR 825 million. The operation will allow STAPLES to increase its activity in Europe by 50%.
