Acquisition of Brake Bros by CD&R is cleared

Brussels, 26/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has cleared the acquisition of the British food group Brake Bros Plc by Fund VI, a private investment fund belonging to the US-based private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R). The operation does not pose any competition problems as CD&R has not so far held any portfolio assets in any of the business areas in which Brake Bros operates (wholesale distribution of food to the catering industry).
