Seven Member States sent to Court of Justice over mutual recognition of professional qualifications

Brussels, 26/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to take Germany, Spain, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria and the UK to the Court of Justice for failing to notify the Commission by 31 July 2001 of measures transposing into their national law Directive 1999/42/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications for industrial, commercial and craft occupations such as electricians, itinerant tradespeople, tilers and hairdressers.
