Commission receives mandate to negotiate bound duties for imports of cereals at EU borders

Brussels, 26/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Council of Ministers has officially agreed (with the adoption of a decision by written procedure) to entrust the European Commission with a mandate for negotiating at the WTO on replacing the Community import regime for cereals with a quota and fixed tariff system (see EUROPE of 25 July, p.12).
