Brussels, 26/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament will draw up a balance sheet of the Spanish Presidency (with José Maria Aznar) during its last session before the summer break. It will be reviewing the Danish Presidency's programme (with Anders Fögh Rasmussen), as well as holding its traditional debate on the annual ECB report, with the participation of ECB President Wim Duisenberg. The EP will be voicing its opinion (during its first reading) on the draft regulation on the traceability of genetically modified organism (see EUROPE 10/11 June p 15), discussing the rate of duty on fuel and the 2003 budget, as well as the execution of the budget for 2002 (see EUROPE yesterday p 14 on Främ report). The Commission will be making declarations on the situation in Tunisia and together with the Council, the recent FAO Summit. A debate is expected on inspection of the Common Fisheries Policy and infringements committed in 2000. The plenary is expected to go to a vote on the Quisthoudt-Rowohl reports on rules for company and university participation in the 6the R&D Framework Programme of the Community and Euratom (see EUROPE 8 June p 14 and 12 June p 12 on the subject of the report on this vote). On 4July, the President of the European Convention, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, will be meeting with the Conference of the Presidents of Parliament.
