Commission opens procedure against extending French government aid to its air sector

Brussels, 05/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Commission decided to open formal examination procedure against France for having extended aid granted to its aid sector to offset losses suffered following the attacks on 11 September. According to the Commission, this extension entailed competition distortion as no other Member State notified similar aid.
