Brussels, 04/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - On 11 April the United Nations will be organising a ceremony to mark the setting up the sixtieth ratification instrument of the Statue of the International Criminal Court. The Statue of Rome will enter into force on 1 July 2002 and the Court will be functioning by 2003.
139 countries have signed the Treaty and 56 have ratified it. Out of all Member States only Ireland and Greece have still to ratify it.
