Brussels, 11/03/2002 (Agence Europe) - On 11 March, the Commission published its draft Regulation applying to automobile distribution, that it had presented on 5 February. The text of the draft, accompanied by an explanatory note, may be consulted on the Commission's internet site (http: //europa.eu.int/comm/competition/car sector) and will be published in the Official Journal C67 of 16 March. The parties interested, including the general public, should send their remarks to the Commission within one month from the date of publication of the Official Journal. The Commission will examine the comments received, then begin a period of consultation during which it will receive the opinions of Member States, the EP and the ESC. These opinions may possibly give rise to changes and the final text will be adopted this year to take effect on 1 October 2002.
