Michaele Schreyer says the financing of enlargement proposals are balanced for everybody

Brussels, 25/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - At the 12 February ECOFIN Council, Budget Commissioner Michaele Schreyer defended the European Commission's strategy for funding enlargement, arguing that the proposals made it possible to strike a balance between the current Member States' financial interests and the interests of future Member States. She also said that the direct aid issue had to be sorted out by the Accession Treaties since otherwise, new Member States would be able to receive 100%...
