25/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - Between myself, Berlusconi and Blair there is "great unity of views" on economic reform and the labour market, and the "Berlusconi-Blair document seems to me to be excellent: they both called me to inform me of its content while they were discussing it. We all three see things in the same way on a large part of the reforms that we consider necessary for Europe, and that we hope to see approved in Barcelona", said José Maria Aznar in an interview with La Repubblica last Friday (see EUROPE of 15 February, p.14). However, in answer to questions on a "Madrid-Rome-London alignment", he replied: "There is no alignment, this kind of agreement is normal in Europe: the only real alignment is within the Union, the Franco-German axis".
