Austria appoints Farnleitner - Ireland McSharry

Brussels, 01/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - Chancellor Schussel has appointed former OVP Minister of the Economy Hannes Farnleitner as government representative in the Convention on the future of Europe.

As for the Irish Government, it has appointed Ray McSharry, former European commissioner (for agriculture).

In Bonn, the Bundesrat has appointed Erwin Teufel (CDU), and the Bundestag Jurgen Meyer (SPD).
