Volume of retail trade up in EU in November 2001 compared with November 2000

Luxembourg, 01/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - According to Eurostat, the volume of retail trade rose by 1.3% in the eurozone and 2.4% in the EU as a whole (EU15) in November 2001 as compared with November 2000.

In November 2001 as compared with November 2000, retail trade of food, drinks and tobacco rose by 1.1% in the eurozone and 2.0% in EU15. The decrease of sales of food in specialised stores continued, this time by 2.0% in EU15, while sales in non-specialised stores in the same area...
