Iran confirms it wants agreement with EU on natural gas

Athens, 01/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - Iran hopes to reach an agreement with the EU in order to supply it with natural gas, it was declared on Wednesday, in Athens, by the minister responsible for oil policy, Bijan Namdar-Zangheneh. Recalling that dialogue had been initiated several years ago, he hoped that "they would reach an operational plan and an agreement that would meet with their mutual satisfaction". Mr Zangheneh said that "Turkey may play the role of a central connecting base"...
