Debate on Wednesday over Galileo - Glante Report calls for private sector not to participate in joint enterprise to manage the project

Brussels, 01/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Parliament will vote on the setting up of a joint enterprise to manage the launch of the Galileo satellite positioning and navigation project. The Glante Report (German, Social-Democrat), adopted by the Industry Committee on 8 January, urges Parliament to vote in favour of the creation of this joint enterprise, but against participation of the private sector, so as to avoid "conflicts of interests" (see EUROPE of 9 January,...
