01/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - Speaking before a parliamentary committee on Thursday, British Minister for European Affairs Peter Hain said that London is hoping to reach a joint declaration with Spain on the future of Gibraltar, and has invited the Rock's government to be associated with this. The strategy is based on the Anglo-Irish declaration of 1993 which allowed for the foundations of the peace process in Northern Ireland to be laid.
