Brussels, 23/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Commission announced the adoption of Urban II programmes for two French urban areas
The Val de Seine will benefit for the period 2000-2006 of a programme of 30 million euro (12 million of which from the EU). The aims of the programme are: improving the general living conditions through the regeneration of external spaces and improved access to areas, supporting the return to employment and training, day-care for young children, economic and commercial development of new services, with support for the development of SMEs/SMIs, trade and the crafts, supporting the creation of activities by constructing adapted buildings and the development of new services.
Manois is being granted a 38 million euro programme (13 million of which from the EU) to: support economic activities (notably by renovating the industrial estate of Vaucouleurs, improving the cultural and natural environment of these areas, encouraging associations, developing prevention and social inclusion programmes, improving the management of local urban areas.
