European commission must make credit mutuel pay back illegal funding from Livre bleu

Brussels, 14/01/2002 (Agence Europe) -

On Tuesday, the Commission is expected to rule against Crédit Mutuel and demand that it pays back around EUR 300 million to the French State, a figure that corresponds to the illegal funding it received from the Livre Bleu. The Livre bleu is a savings account exempt from taxes up to a certain amount and since 1975, provided exclusively by Crédit Mutuel.
